Hi All,
I hope that your weekend was filled with things that bring you joy. I hope that you found and are finding moments to be playful, curious and a little bit ridiculous. I know that this stretch of the year is a long one. We're getting there, a larger break is on the horizon!
I wanted to share with you some of the joyful things that I heard from our students as we participated in Den Groups:
One student said to another "I used to be shy like you... I can help"
"Hey...you were in my den group. Do you want to see my continent writing?"
Students pairing with younger/older students to walk, talk or share.
"I like using the talking piece because no one can interrupt me."
"I like the circle because everyone has a chance to share."
One student was joyfully explaining to another about learning about multiplying decimals. As the student was trying to understand he said..."do you know about fractions? It's kind like that....like a half but in number form. ANND we're learning how to multiply them!"
Building was calm. Students and teachers were all engaged. I found it beautiful to sit and listen to our young people have a very similar and belonging centered focus across all settings. Truly...it was lovely to bear witness to. Thank you for your participation in this practice.
