7 ways to continue Random Acts of Kindness this year - Calgary Drop-In Centre | Calgary Drop-In Centre

Hi All,

I hope that you had a rejuvenating break. This one always seems to come and go SO quickly. I had a good balance of work and family time, a different pace for a week is always a welcome feeling. I'm looking forward to welcoming our kiddos back tomorrow morning. What can you and your students do this week to spread kindness?

News and Announcements
  • At the board meeting before break the board approved the proposal of June 24th being the last day of school. They also agreed to explore more fully the Doty Memorial School being used as a site for Turtle Island Childcare Center. They are currently facing the end of a lease in Montpelier and are in a rush to find a suitable space for their center.
  • Hiring Committee Help: Special Educator
    • I am wondering if a classroom teacher, special educator and possible support staff member would be interested in being on a committee. We are looking to meet ASAP...probably Tuesday. Thanks for considering.
  • Upcoming Dates:
    • Break April 21-April 25
    • Wunderle's Two Day Residency---May 15/16
      • One Man Show---5/16
    • Art/Music Show  5/27   5:45-7:00
    • WCUUSD Band Chorus 5/6 Concert  6/5
    • VINS---June 9th
    • Save the Date---Field Day/Picnic 6/13
    • Last day of school 6/24 12:30 dismissal
  • Here are some short reads to get you thinking about welcoming kids back and maybe introducing some fun!
  • Copier---The copier has been fixed and we found the culprit. The roll had a large scratch on it because a jam had been cleared with something sharp. This was something that has already been replaced this year. Please DO NOT clear a jam with anything other than your hands. If you have a jam please wait for Lori or Doreen if you are not successful.

 The Moon in April 2025

Hi All,

I hope that you all had a great weekend. I wanted to thank you all for engaging in the CIP work last Wednesday. Jen Miller-Arsenault said that she really enjoyed being with us and was excited to hear our conversation and her positivity even looking a lofty goals. It was lovely to hear such positive feedback. I figured I would share that with you all.

Tyler, Ashlyn, MaryBeth and myself just came off a great training with Growth Coaching International. We were joined by many staff and administrators in the district. We are looking forward to implementing the practices that we learned and sharing that learning with you all.

A huge thank you to Betsy, Jessica and Amber for stepping up in our absence. Also to all of you who stepped in/up/out during the few days we were out.
